LEFT TO RIGHT: Mike Herr and Jeff Guinn put the finishing touches on Harrisonburg’s LOVEworks sculpture near the Municipal building on Wednesday afternoon. The sculpture will be unveiled Saturday behind the Arts Council of the Valley, facing Turner Pavilion on South Liberty Street. The 11 a.m. ceremony will give the Virginia Tourism Corp. its latest piece of art promoting the theme “ Virginia is For Lovers.” Three local artists — Nicole Martorana, Guinn and Herr — created the sculpture. State tourism funds and local donations and in-kind sponsorships paid for the $1,200 artwork.
